The weather is chilly but pleasant, and there aren't any lines for the rides - in fact, it seems you have this place to yourself. The entire park appears to have been abandoned some years ago, and though everything is in working order, it is overgrown with plants and seems rusted and unsafe. As for you, something has happened, though you aren't sure what. There's a throbbing pain in your head, and you can't focus, as though you're coming off heavy pain medications. However you think you should look, you look like a human now. Under the bandages wrapped around your temple, old and smelling like blood, you'll find a recently stitched up scar wound and the inability to focus on your memories. You have no knowledge of how you came to be here; you may even have forgotten certain aspects of your life, or feel confused about them. The fact of your missing memories is obvious, a dark blank spot. Under the bandages around your wrist, you'll find a brightly colored bracelet, decorated with the face of the smiling cartoon animal on your wall, embedded into your flesh. It beeps a merry tune and welcomes you to DreamLand Fun Park. Just then, a voice comes over the loudspeaker.] "Good morning to all of our new guests! The park is now open! We'll get started later, but for now, have a magical day with your new friends! Oh, and there may be a few nasty side effects to your medical condition. If you meet someone having trouble adjusting to reality, please be polite!" [In your room, you'll find a small box containing several personal items - no weapons, magical items, or technology advanced beyond the early 21st century, and nothing dangerous, but otherwise anything you would ordinarily find on your person is there. Of course, nothing with cell reception or internet connectivity can manage to pick up a signal. If you swipe your bracelet against the steel door, it unlocks. Nah. It looks like it might fall apart if I try to get on. [The last thing she needs is a torn up leg from falling through a carousel when the scar on her temple is so insistent about not healing.] I didn't expect it to just turn on like that!

[This is an interesting take on merry-go-rounds.] It doesn't look like anyone's taken care of the ride in a long time. The horses could break and fall over while we're sitting on them, or a hole could appear in the floor, or the top of the ride could fall down on us!

[ Start putting in exotic sounding vegetables and we might have a problem, but at the very least, Ciel isn't picky for the basics. Now, if it was Sebastian, this would be completely unacceptable, but he won't be a contrary punk to her, at least. And as he watches, he can't help but be a little curious, so he asks lightly, ]

How did you learn to cook anyways?

[It definitely doesn't sound like anything in Japan! Maybe he's from a little weird country like her own Super High School Level Princess. Who knows.]

Out of necessity.

[Her tone of voice is a little matter-of-fact as she continues getting everything together. Once the broth is simmering and the meat is partially cooked, she can mix in the vegetables since they don't take as long... then they won't get mushy and gross...]

I spent a lot of time without having any reason to know how to cook, but... some things changed and I ended up traveling. The distance between cities and towns where I come from is pretty far... there were a lot of nights where we had to camp out instead of staying at an inn. It was basically learn how to cook or starve, especially since if we let one of our friends cook, everything ended up burnt.

The things I know how to make aren't anything fancy, but they're edible, at least.

Oz is too busy at first looking around the area and watching the scenery start to spin by with some measure of curiosity. He should probably be more concerned with the fact that they are locked into a ricketyass ride that they'll need to jump out of if they want to escape, but no. Priorities!!

Once she addresses him, though, he'll turn to look at the wheel.]

Oh— So that's what that does! [And he'll just immediately set his hands on the wheel too because why not, livin on the edge.] Ready?

I've watched Gil cook before! [AW YEAH. But with that out of the way, he'll go grab a kitchen knife and look for a cutting board. He can totally do this... how exciting.]

[OZ STILL DOESN'T REALLY GET... that... but at least he's marginally less confused now than he was .5 seconds ago!! Either way, he'll just be nodding at the end of that explanation like he's totally cool with this crazy dude talking about people and nonhumans in space creating synthetic... people???]

I see! Well, in that case, I wouldn't want to take your mattress anyway. You said that it was uncomfortable to sit on, right? It would be even less comfortable just to sit on the mattress frame.

Rude as hell, though. Oz totally misconstrues it as Ciel being polite because why would he suspect that such a grumpy little kid in a circus outfit would be such a shithead?? And he'll step on ahead before holding a hand back for Ciel, since the step up is pretty big and there's a gap between the trolley and the rails.]

The one thing that I would suggest not going on is the... roller coaster? I think that's what it was called! Anyway, that one's not really a good ride.

According to his nose... well, with so many people running around, it's impossible to tell who might have carried him in there in the first place, but he can tell which door he ran out of! He can't tell how it opens, though. Scratching doesn't seem to work, and there's no door handle to jump at. Doors, why are they such a pain. ]
