dreamland day three

34 players remaining.

[As the day wears on into the afternoon, the dead aren't getting any deader. It's late in the afternoon, and the air is beginning to cool, when the chimes play again over the park loudspeaker.
"All of us here at Dreamland wish you luck, guests! Let's meet up in the Hall of Mirrors!"

Wherever you are, it's time to make your way over to the House of Horrors, where you'll have to brave the funhouse to find the room on the top floor. Don't delay, or your guest identification bracelet will begin beeping. The House of Mirrors is a large room, more than capable of fitting a crowd. Tall mirrors line every wall, and the door you entered through seems to vanish into a mirror as well. The mirrors give the impression that many, many more are among your number, standing in the background.

In the back is a jar filled with blank raffle tickets. You'll have to take a ticket, write down a name, and place it back in the jar. Hopefully you already know who you're voting for, but if not, you only have time for a brief discussion before you're out of time.

[...Pleased.]

I can confirm that the morning after the night of conversion, I did explain to Missile the events of the evening prior. I explained Levi had claimed to be the detective.

[Unlike his cousin, Mori is nodding along with this.]

The detective would want to stay hidden. He tried to communicate secretly.... But it didn't work.

[That was what they had thought from the beginning. Unfortunately for Missile, the point wasn't understood until he revealed himself.]

Thank you, Edea Lee. This has been very enlightening.

You're right--I didn't see Missile around when Levi was claiming to be the detective that night.

[personal profile] cakelover 2014-09-30 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Levi also tried to defend himself, and we did not listen. That's the reason I'm...trying to consider the defense.

At the beginning of the trial, we were all convinced that we should vote for Legion, were we not? Or... I think that most of us were. If there was really a group of VIPs wanting to do what you said and protect Legion, they would have instructed Missile to openly denounce him much sooner. They were slicing it very close [the phrase is "cutting it very close," Star] to make him wait so long.

I believe that he waited because he thought that delivering the pictures was all he needed to do, and it was not until later on that he understood that we weren't understanding what he was trying to say.

After all, he was... not trying to tell us that Levi was a VIP. He was just trying to tell us that he was not the detective. We decided to execute him.
unbridledjoy: (there's something down there)

[personal profile] unbridledjoy 2014-09-30 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. Innocent people paid a terrible price for it, but I do not think that Missile was trying to hurt anyone. He just did not know how to tell us...
dotdotdotstare: (plain)

[personal profile] dotdotdotstare 2014-09-30 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
[Interesting. The first two possibilities have something in common, that he hadn't actually considered.]

Do you suspect the VIPS forget during day?

[Objection!]

That's not the crux of my argument. It simply makes it stronger.

If what you say is true, then explain Missile's actions when he did find out Levi was detective. He is not a subtle animal you say - but the fact remains that he chose to plant clues early in the morning to accuse Levi of wrongdoing rather than confront him and then waited another 8 hours to do anything in the open! Under the premise that 'Missile was an unconverted Detective', what he did defies logic.

And please don't say he couldn't find Levi; he's a dog.
unbridledjoy: (maybe i should check it out?)

[personal profile] unbridledjoy 2014-09-30 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
That makes sense... I do not blame you for that. I do not think anyone else would, either.

[She tries to smile a little, though it isn't quite as bright as she would like.] It is only after considering it that I decided it did not make sense. If it takes you longer to decide or you decide it does make sense, that is alright. It would be very lonely for no one to believe her at all, I think...

[ Hold it right there! ]

Even if he could find Levi, he couldn't necessarily gather us all-- which is what he needed, right? He needed to tell us all about it and waited until we were gathered at the discussion!

[ He NEVER QUESTIONED LEVI WAS SHADY, so Honey is trying to actually do that today, as Starfire has understood by now. Not lynch someone who could be innocent today, yes. Which means considering the arguments the whole time until he's convinced. ]

No matter the guilt or innocence of anyone we vote for today, we do owe them that much, yes.

[ More, probably. They're killing people just as surely as the VIPs are. ]

Hm. An interesting view to take and the VIPs would certainly take into account certain qualities when deciding who to convert. I will agree it is possible, barring the possibility that the Conversion Busters protected Missile.

In the end it is Edea's word against Missile's...ah, bark I suppose.

[personal profile] jingler 2014-09-30 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
True, the VIPs would look at certain qualities in their decision. Perhaps Missile had a quality they sought and they picked him. Maybe they like dogs then, taking Malik into consideration.

Well, that's not a nice thing to say.

[So mean Kyouya.]

But you make a point. I think I'll stop here.

[personal profile] unbridledjoy 2014-09-30 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
...We must remember them.

I would like to try to save them, but when they killed, they stepped over the line. When they killed a child, they leaped far beyond it.

We will have to execute people ourselves, but that is because we must survive. This is not a game... it is a war.

When we win it... then we can look at their reasons for why they did what they did. But if we worry about it too much now, we will be defeated.

Nui said Edea was the one who started yelling at Malik when he threatened to cut off Missile's paw too and now it sounds like she's suddenly against him. Or at least, eager to point him out as the convert.

I don't know if that's a coincidence or what, but her argument's not winning me over at all.

If Missile didn't know until breakfast - then we were all basically already gathered in one place. We're locked into the dorms for about an hour, remember?

[ He gets the general idea of it, it seems! (The host of arguments cropping up doesn't hurt.)

...Maybe this is more like unfair in his favor. Nothing about this game is all that fair, really! He feels a little bad for her, but, like... not bad enough to take back anything he's barked! Maybe he could have done better yesterday, but all he can do now is run forward!

This translates to a sharp bark and a serious stare. His tail is up and his chest is puffed out as only a pomeranian can puff.

She's not going to hurt any of his friends, not ever again! ]

It's... not coincidence that I'm rejecting an accusation that means I'll die, no. What in the world did you think I would do? Nod along and ask to be killed?
ionicwoman: (pic#8325827)

[personal profile] ionicwoman 2014-09-30 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
.... [But she has a hard time believing either Legion or Edea could be a VIP]

Why would he pick you, if you're telling the truth? There are way more shadier people here.
