day one - aftermath

dreamland day one 41 players remaining. As the voting period comes to an end, a bell goes off from the ticket machine, and the metal bars blocking the tunnel at the end of the Hall of Mirrors lifts. A voice speaks over the loudspeaker: "Attention, guests! Please make your way onto the ride! For your safety, keep your hands and arms inside and do not attempt to leave your seat!" Through the tunnel, single cars on a track stop and wait for each remaining player to step on. Don't dawdle, or your bracelet will begin to beep a warning. Once in a car, the safety bar locks you tightly inside, unable to move. The car trundles along a dark, twisting track, nearly veering into cartoonish obstacles, but veering away at the last moment. Music and cackling laughter echoes loudly through the ride as you drive faster and faster. Suddenly, your car seems about to veer off to the left, through a set of tall doors, before abruptly spinning off to the right. With a powerful jerk, each car comes to the end of the ride. The safety bar lifts, and you can leave. It seems no one was executed tonight, but a list of votes has been pinned to the wall for your perusal. You now have the rest of the evening to explore the park, before night comes again. character statuses private conversations This is a general post-vote mingle encompassing the time from the end of the trial (about 5 PM until the fireworks at 11 PM). No... but no one yet has reason to trust anyone, except for the fact that we cannot move ahead without trust.

It is the true conundrum of this game.

Levi, I must be frank: I dislike your line of reasoning. If you had spoken up during discussion and no one would contend your claim, then I am certain we would have followed your lead. If you had turned out to be a liar, we could always just take you out the next day.

But now your actions may have just spelled doom for another to be converted as a VIP. If your claim is as true as it is, tomorrow we will have to execute Legion -- an action we could have taken today had you come out -- and we will be back to 7 VIPs but less people in total.

Please reflect on your actions today and do not act so bullheaded tomorrow. If you are the detective as you claim, you have to take responsibility.

I am certain Mioda gave an accurate description. [Maybe if it were parsed from in between the other things Ibuki tends to say. Or maybe Ibuki actually had some focus when talking about the island. Peko would be so proud.]

It is... fine. While I appreciate the sentiment, until we have a concerted plan of escape, that is all it is. Sentiment.

Indeed. By dorm, by room number -- an assignment as such, while eliminating some aspects of privacy, would at least permit for monitoring during the day.

The main trouble is that the VIPs are permitted in the park overnight, while normal people are not.

As K said...if you truly are the detective, then you need to do your job. We cannot...find these VIPs without your help. Doing things like this is not wise, not wise at all...

There likely is a motive, it's just not aimed at all of us at once. Just the VIPs. The rules are different this time.

Exactly. Unless the VIPs are comprised of nothing but sick and twisted individuals, there's no way they'd agree to this sort of game without something being held over their heads to push them.
