![]() [You wake up in a temporary barracks set up behind an amusement park. The weather is chilly but pleasant, and there aren't any lines for the rides - in fact, it seems you have this place to yourself. The entire park appears to have been abandoned some years ago, and though everything is in working order, it is overgrown with plants and seems rusted and unsafe. As for you, something has happened, though you aren't sure what. There's a throbbing pain in your head, and you can't focus, as though you're coming off heavy pain medications. However you think you should look, you look like a human now. Under the bandages wrapped around your temple, old and smelling like blood, you'll find a recently stitched up scar wound and the inability to focus on your memories. You have no knowledge of how you came to be here; you may even have forgotten certain aspects of your life, or feel confused about them. The fact of your missing memories is obvious, a dark blank spot. Under the bandages around your wrist, you'll find a brightly colored bracelet, decorated with the face of the smiling cartoon animal on your wall, embedded into your flesh. It beeps a merry tune and welcomes you to DreamLand Fun Park. Just then, a voice comes over the loudspeaker.] "Good morning to all of our new guests! The park is now open! We'll get started later, but for now, have a magical day with your new friends! Oh, and there may be a few nasty side effects to your medical condition. If you meet someone having trouble adjusting to reality, please be polite!" [In your room, you'll find a small box containing several personal items - no weapons, magical items, or technology advanced beyond the early 21st century, and nothing dangerous, but otherwise anything you would ordinarily find on your person is there. Of course, nothing with cell reception or internet connectivity can manage to pick up a signal. If you swipe your bracelet against the steel door, it unlocks. You may now explore your accommodations, or venture out into the park.] character statuses setting This is an IC mingle covering the first day! Night roles will go up Monday at 4 PM EST, but you are welcome to continue to thread here once that happens. Make sure to follow any updates on plurk! |

Hi, Peko-chan.
no subject
Peko is staying very firmly off the rides, checking for anything sharp around the haunted house. And definitely not making any moves to go in, though she does keep glancing toward the door.
At the sound of her name, she turns, going still for a moment. There's something like shock that crosses her face for an instant before it smooths into its usual calm, if somewhat intense, expression.]
Koizumi.
[Does she sound careful as she sounds out the other girl's name? It must be Koizumi's imagination, of course Peko would have no reason for any of that.]

The atmosphere is just eerie......... in the general vicinity of the horror house. Sure. Mahiru shifts her weight from one foot to the other.]
Do you think we're stuck here instead, now? I don't see any way out yet, but when Monokuma said he was going to give out curry, even this sounds way out of character for him.

[Peko are you a robot. Stop repeating what other people say right back to them. She actually does look a little shocked at that, since she's actually trying to remember why that sounds so familiar.
And then it hits her. Monokuma's incentive before the true incentive.]
I... yes. Somewhere else. I spoke with Kuzuryuu and Mioda, and the consensus is the same.
[She'd... never really had anything personal against Koizumi, herself. The other girl was just an unfortunate means to an end.
That doesn't mean Peko's entirely comfortable talking to her, though.]

I tried to cycle through my watch on the train ride, since I don't have my electroID here, and it looks like Tanaka's our only other classmate. I'm gonna try to find him in the petting zoo later.
...we're not going to get punished back on the island, are we? [This escape is obviously too good to be true, and on top of the eerie amusement atmosphere itself... why would Monokuma OR Monomi let them go?? If only she had her rulebook with her she could check why this is allowable...]

[Well, at least they'll have hams on their side. Peko actually doesn't look terribly disappointed by that, although,] If he can keep track of his earring this time, perhaps he can be somewhat reliable.
[THIS KID...]
...
[Ah yes. The island. Peko freezes again, then shakes her head, lips only firming further.]
We are not going back to that island. None of us are. I will not allow it.
[She'd make a point with her shinai, but her sword case is empty. Either way, her gaze only seems to grow more intense at that declaration.]

But...
[Monomi was always crazy, expecting them to live peacefully on the island, and Mahiru wanted to collect her hope shards as quickly as possible. Her father needs her, and she needs to see her mother again. Not the island underscores the awareness that Jabberwock is a death sentence.]
Hi--[--yoko-chan is on her mind as much as she has been for the past several hours. Mahiru valiantly comes up with something more neutral:]--nata and the others, we have to figure out how to get them out too. Can't just leave them behind...
[The impossibility impresses itself all the harder onto Mahiru's mind. Step one might be getting off the island, but what the hell is step two? Survive here for now -- as much as she'd like to think this is a fun time, the aching black spot in her head suggests otherwise.]
We might not even be in the right country. What are we going to do on the other side of that fence? [The image of Ibuki busking for hitchhiking money enters her head, enough to make Mahiru at least chuckle bitterly, and look up properly at Mahiru.] It looks like we spend the night here.
no subject
No one needs him anywhere.]
If we can find transportation to that island and a way to defeat the Monobeasts, then we can rescue the others.
For now, be grateful that you are here and relatively unharmed.
[Relatively, since they've all apparently had brain surgery?? And Koizumi has forgotten everything about Twilight Murder Fuckup so.
Yeah Peko's going to need to consult with Kuzuryuu to find out if he still wants Koizumi dead.]

[Gratitude is a weird emotion to have and it fills her head like helium. Doesn't it mean that she has to be thankful for something? The heels of her Mary Janes click on the concrete.
She takes a few steps away from Peko and picks her camera back up to finally start taking pictures of this new area.] This is the main place I've been so far, besides Pleasant Street. What has Peko-chan seen? Anything-- [and again, she falters, because "fun" is too strong a word for Peko Pekoyama and that's almost as sad as it is outright strange] interesting?
